How to get to Moshi

How to get to Moshi

Moshi is a town in northern Tanzania, near the Kenyan border. It’s known as a gateway to Kilimanjaro National Park, home to Africa’s highest mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro. Trails run up the mountain’s cloud-ringed, snow-capped dome, through alpine forests and meadows home to elephants and leopards. One of Tanzania’s major coffee-producing hubs, Moshi is known for its coffee farms and auctions.

Arriving to Moshi Kilimanjaro From Abroad

To reach Moshi/Kilimanjaro, the best option is flying to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO). Several airlines such as KLM/Kenya airways, Ethiopian and Condor serve it. Our shuttle from JRO airport to Moshi is 20 US$ on way. The tickets to Kilimanjaro airports may be a bit more expensive than flying to Nairobi or Dar es salam, but you save time for bus travel, costs for domestic travel, costs for a Kenyan visa (if flying to Nairobi) and possibly 2 hotel nights in Nairobi or Dar es salaam.
